Wow! Lucky you to capture them! They are beautiful. I love the second shot the best. Love the soft, warm colors all around the butterfly. Great captures!
Good for you. I can't tell you how many times I have tried to do butterflies and failed. They are all great. How are we supposed to choose? Well. OK. Number 2.
I like number three with the two Monarchs. I really have not seen any in Allegheny County for years. I plant flowers that butterfly's like, I have seen hummingbirds thought.
Although I do like closeups, the last one is my fav. To hell with framing and thirds, its a super shot. The butterfly stands out wonderfully in contrast to the plane.
We had hundreds of them come through last week. I could run under the trees and watch them scatter for hours. They are so pretty. I did a post on them and like you couldn't choose the best one so I added a bunch.

When do they migrate to Mexico for the winter?
I think that I like 3 or maybe 2 I kinda like 1 too.
I don't know
I think that 3 would have been my favorite if it was zoomed in a little more.
Chasing butterfly's is hard work. I tried again tonight and didn't get any shots....
I really like the second one, the Butterfly seems the most natural! They are hard to photograph..you did great! :)
