Auntierazzi

Okay well I got the used Canon 40D. And I've been shooting with it every night. Last night I had my niece over. And shot about a gazillion pix. I think I'm getting the white balance thing figured out.

Any comments? Besides the fact that my niece is freakin' adorable! Composition? White Balance? Focusing? Afternoon sun yesterday was strong.

What are you guys using for editing software? Anyone have any comments on Photoshop Elements or Lightroom?

Amazing beautiful photos. Sometimes I wish I could have had a little girl. I used Photoshop Elements when I did compositing for journal publishing and it did everything I needed. I actually like the old version of Adobe PhotoDeluxe for some photo editing.

OMGoodness! What great shots! Are you loving the camera or what?
What lenses did you have for this camera.
I have Photoshop Elements 6 and really like it. If you buy it or 7, get Scott Kelby's book to help you along.

I don't know squat when it comes to a DSLR. Your niece is adorable, BUT, that shot of the flower is fantastic!!!

Thank you thank you! I think I am going to try the Elements program...it's cheaper than the other and I figure it will take me awhile to master it, then I can move on.

Amy...thanks for the book suggestion. I will definatley grab it.

Thanks again all! Have a great weekend.

I think these are great! I, too have Elements and Scott Kelby's book. (Still getting used to Elements--I use Paint Shop Pro most of the time.)

Love the black-eyed Susan macro!

Nice pictures! I'm pretty useless when it comes to lighting and composition stuff, so I can't help you there, except to say that whatever you are doing is working!

These shots look pretty good to me - having such a cute subject always helps! Will be interested to read more about your digital journey. I'm still wandering around in mine!

Tami, I haven't stopped by for a while -- overwhelmed with life you could say. But sure glad I did today. What a cutie, and beautiful lighting. That can be a hard time of day but you did well.

Hi Tami, Great photos, the flower shot is awesome.
The bright light gave you some interesting shadows, the flower on her shirt I really liked. She is a cutie! She is a great subject.. practice..trial and error. I use Adobe Photoshop Elements..it works for my purposes...I am probably to old and cranky to learn any new program anyway! I like morning, late afternoon and clouds moving in and out..playing with the light..light is a big factor for me, especially with flower colors. You are doing great!! :)

I love my 40D. Hubby got me the new Mark II but I've not mastered it yet. The 40D is so EASY!!!

Good shots, girlfriend.

Have fun with it!!

Your niece is So adorable! I saw your name on the DVM's blog this morning when I was congratulating on her win at I heart faces and I came over to say hi : ). I love in PA too. Just above Philadelphia in Bucks County. Where are you in PA? Your pictures are really awesome! I have to go look around some more!

Roxane...always happy to see that you were here!

Far Side...I'm just bought Elements last week. And I have not been able to really get the hang of it. I so very very much want to get the exposure correct in the camera first so as not to have to do much editing. I've been shooting in Manuel mode and some days it's just down right scary....and some days it works out good. Thanks for the advice! It's always appreciated.

Kaishon.....Hello and welcome to my little blog. I'm between Pittsburgh (60 miles) and Erie (90 miles).

I love Western PA. Massive hilly rolling country with trees galore! It's my kind of place. Of course Bucks county ain't to shabby either!

Look forward to reading through your blog!
