What your opinion on this type of photo. I was drawn to it in the group because his whole self filled the frame. And of course I know him...so I think that this captured his 'self' really well. It's probable a little bit overexposed.
I love it! His eyes light up and it just captures such a sweetness about him. You could darken the edges like a vignetting around the edges if you felt it was too bright. Would be pretty in black & white as well! Great job!
If you're wondering about the extreme closeup, I think you know, from my bee photo today, that I love that close-up perspective. Sometimes, that is what we see, so that is what we ought to capture. I love it, actually. It really draws me into the eye, and I feel like I may have glimpsed the soul of a horse. :)
Amy...I've never tried to do anything with vignetting....I'll have to play around with that. And it never occurred to me to try B&W, which is scary because last months Outdoor Photographer was dedicated to B&W (the personal learning curve is steep here in Western PA)!

IT's an eye-catching photo.. love the way even the bit of background we can see is brown.

I know this is a really old thread but I love this! The close up is one of my favourite type of horse shots. He looks such a kind boy.
