Day 15 - Weaned

Sad day for the little camo kitten. She/He was the only kitten to survive kittenhood here at the farm....probable due to the fact that he blends in to everywhere. Anyway Mama cat declared her independence and that was it. Milk supply cut off....weaned the hard way.

He was absolutely pathetic for about 3 days. Sitting out in front of the barn crying and looking just terrible. I tried to catch him a couple times so that I could show him to the feed. But he was to quick. One of the other strays took charge of the situation though....he was in the barn eating at tonight.

Oh, what a poor little kitty. My daughters would want to adopt it in a snap! So cute and so sad looking.

Tami, when I am able to be in the market again for another camera, I am going to be back here asking exactly what you have. I am loving your shots! Of course, I know you have something to do with it, but wow! If there can be something to help get those kinds of shots, they are superb every time.]

Thanks so much for the birthday greetings. That was sweet! It was a nice day. I felt loved, for sure.

Oh, that poor little one! What a sad state he looks in that photo. I feel terrible that it was such a quick, harsh wean... must be horrible! :)

Maybe we should report his mother to the kitty version of CYS. I loved the Diesel story, I will be awaiting the follow up on both blogs.

I was feelin' bad for the little suckers too....but somehow he got in the office this AM and pooped and peed on the dog bed!

My barn cat Sinopa abandoned one kitten from her litter of three in my calf pen with two Jersey babies. We "adopted" him to the house, as the calves thought he was their own special chew toy. However, he is a plain black kind of ugly kitten. Why she couldn't have ditched the one that looks like yours with just a bit more white is beyond me. Glad the little one has found the dinner plate!
