Silent, Soft, and Slow

Out of the bosom of the Air,
Out of the cloud-folds of her garments shaken,
Over the woodlands brown and bare,
      Over the harvest-fields forsaken,
        Silent, and soft, and slow
          Descends the snow.
      - Henry Wadsworth LongfellowSnow-Flakes

Bit early for snow storms like this for Western Pennsylania.  3" more over night and 17F when I got out of bed this morning. Brrrrrrrr.....

Beautiful snow and poetry.
Thanks for the grass advice.
I believe the trailer incident was driver error, I didn't get the full story yet. Probably didn't double check that things were secure. Very scary! It could have turned out so horribly. One more thing to give thanks for.

Down in Allegheny County all we got was a dusting and icy patches. It is 17F here too. Just found your blog, I like the pics and poetry.

My brother has a Jack Russel Terrier who is 15, he is starting to slow down a bit.

Awesome - truly awesome. Both the picture and the poem. Makes me want to curl up with a quilt, some cocoa, and a good book.

By-the-way, my husband lived (and worked) in Boyertown, for over a year. He would fly "back home" for the weekends. He stayed at a wonderful B & B called the Twin Turrets.

Should you every want a weekend "getaway", I would highly recommend this place (if it's still owned by the same person)!

I should have mentioned the ownners name - Marianne Deery.
At the time that dear husband was there, she was the mayor. Wonderful woman, and a great cook.

Miss America (don't remember what year) stayed there once. I always teased my husband about sleeping in the same bed as Miss America.

What a pretty framed picture. That is about how it looks around my woods too.
Then I noticed the corgi dog and thought, "Awww, how cute, looks my Ruby dog." Then realized it was! Thank you so much for your kind words about my blog! That's so cool!

Very pretty! I wish our snow storms were like that. We usually have 30 mph winds with them!

What a beautiful photo ! Of course we don't get anything like it in Africa, so I found the photo fascinating and surreal - thanks for sharing :)
